Hunter-Reay, Borg-Warner Trophy Bring 100th Running Celebration to Capitol Hill

Verizon IndyCar Series driver and 2014 Indianapolis 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay will take the world-famous Borg-Warner Trophy to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., this Tuesday, March 22, as part of ongoing 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race presented by PennGrade Motor Oil celebrations.

Hunter-Reay, the Florida resident also known as “Captain America” in racing circles, and the iconic trophy will be the featured at a 100th Running reception jointly hosted by Representatives Susan W. Brooks (R-IN5) and Andre Carson (D-IN7). Members of Congress representing several Verizon IndyCar Series tracks also will be in attendance.

Hunter-Reay and the Borg-Warner Trophy will make stops at multiple famous Hill locations and join IMS President Doug Boles in meetings with lawmakers. This is the first time the Borg-Warner Trophy, which features bas relief sculptures of the face of every Indianapolis 500 winner, has visited the Capitol building.
