Digitalarti Signs Digital Art Deal With APSYS

Digitalarti has announced its partnership with APSYS, one of the largest European shopping mall companies, to create and install 15 pieces of digital artwork for a new mall. The new mall, Muse, is located in Metz, France. The artwork will be produced and installed between 2015 and 2017.

Digitalarti will curate, select, produce, install and maintain all 15 digital artworks for the new mall by the international architect Viguier in front of the Georges Pompidou center in Metz, France.

Some artwork will be created specifically for the mall, integrated into the architecture as a 15 m (50 ft) high moving sculpture. Part of the artworks will be renewed twice annually and an artlab will be installed to showcase the development process of the artworks with tools, videos and twice weekly workshops. The deal will create a new mall experience and give malls worldwide the demonstration of what’s possible with digital art as they strive to provide new client experiences.

It’s an important milestone for digital art – a major contemporary art form. This deal shows a new trend and avenue for digital creators to showcase their artwork. Creators are often confined to digital art festivals and emerging galleries, among a few others.
