On December 5, 2013, Hollywood rolled out the rojo carpet for the acknowledged “Queen of Latin Pop”,
Ariadna Thalia Sodi Miranda – also known simply by her single professional name, Thalia.
The boisterous sidewalk ceremony packed with local (and many out of town) fans nearly drowned out the amplified presenters including her husband, Tommy Mattola. On receiving her award and the pronouncement of “Thalia Day”, she thanked everyone for this special recognition. For more than 30 years, Thalia has been singing and acting in telenovellas. She has sold over 40 million records worldwide and received several industry awards for her work. Most recently she has become an author of children’s books and also a radio talk show host. In what time is not taken up professionally or with her family, Thalia supports the March of Dimes, the Robin Hood Foundation, St. Judes Childrens and others.
