(November 11-15, Napa Valley, California) – The 5th Annual Napa Valley Film Festival wrapped and printed another successful multi-day event featuring 120 films, special presentations, musical performances and cooking demonstrations. Meadowood Napa Valley (http://www.meadowood.com/) awarded $10,000 to the winning filmmakers in both the Narrative and Documentary competition categories at the Closing Night Awards Ceremony. Festival Co-Founders and Directors Marc and Brenda Lhormer reflected, “It’s been an absolutely amazing 5th anniversary for our festival, with an outstanding lineup of films paired with fantastic and unique culinary and wine events. It has been our pleasure to share such compelling stories with our audiences and host such creative storytellers for another year here in Napa Valley. The addition of this year’s Lexus Short Film Series makes it even more special as we will welcome these filmmakers back again next year to showcase their completed projects, shown together for the first time.”

Marc added, “We experienced nearly a 50% jump in submissions this year, making it just that much more difficult to whittle down to our 10 narrative and 10 documentary feature films for our core competition.”

Films in the Narrative competition section featured actors Alexis Bledel, Jamie Chung, Eliza Dushku, Lyndsy Fonseca, Bryan Greenberg, Rebecca Hall, Jeremy Jordan, Josh McDermitt, Kal Penn and Jason Sudeikis, among others. Subjects ranged from a post-apocalyptic journey to finding love despite autism to a chronicling of a relationship as it ages to passages as they affect the various protagonists.
