MADAME TUSSAUDS SAN FRANCISCO REVEALS BOLLYWOOD’S BIGGEST STARS IN WAX AT LAUNCH EVENT ON OCTOBER 6TH with LIVE PERFORMANCES BY BAY AREA BOLLYWOOD DANCE TROUPE, NACHLE SF.
In anticipation of Diwali, Madame Tussauds San Francisco will reveal the wax figures of five of Bollywood’s biggest stars including Aishwarya Rai, widely known to U.S. audiences and often hailed as the most beautiful woman in the world since being crowned Miss World and going on to become the first Indian actress ever to be on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival.
The Bollywood launch event will take place at Madame Tussauds’ Fisherman’s Wharf location on October 6, with appetizers from Kasa Indian Eatery and performances by Bollywood dance troupe, Nachle SF.
Following the event, Madame Tussauds San Francisco will host the Bollywood stars through the opening of Madame Tussauds Delhi in early 2017. It will be the company’s first attraction in the country.
Madame Tussauds has worked with Bollywood for more than two decades. In 2000, Amitabh Bacchan became the first Bollywood actor to be cast in wax by the company. The most recent Bollywood star to be immortalized in wax was Katrina Kaif. More than 225,000 votes were cast in the contest showing the global appeal of Bollywood.
