Michael Woulfe was history’s youngest gown designer to receive screen credit for his work on “The Locket,” starring Laraine Day.

In 1949, he was history’s youngest chief costume designer under contract to a Hollywood major motion picture studio, RKO Radio Pictures, where he reported directly to the studio owner and one of the world’s wealthiest people, Howard Hughes. Years later in 1955, Mr. Hughes placed Michael at Hughes Productions as chief costume designer where he remained for twenty-seven years.

Michael Woulfe was a founding member of the Costume Designers Guild, a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, and a National Member of The American Film Institute.
