SPIETH, DAY, D. JOHNSON, SNEDEKER HEADLINE PRO FIELD

MONTEREY, Calif., Dec. 15, 2015 – Three of the top five money leaders on last season’s PGA Tour, plus the event’s defending champion, will comprise one of the best professional fields in the history of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Feb. 8-14, 2016. Spieth, defending PGA Tour Player of the Year and FedExCup champion, will be joined by Jason Day, Dustin Johnson and Brandt Snedeker.

Snedeker won the 2015 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for the second time in three years, finishing ahead of Day and Johnson (T4), and Spieth (T7).

Spieth seized the attention of the golf world when he captured both The Masters and U.S. Open, before finishing fourth along with Day in The Open Championship. Day earned his first major by winning the PGA Championship in August. Johnson, meanwhile, was in strong contention at all four majors, including The Masters (T6), U.S. Open (T2), and PGA Championship (T7). Snedeker’s solid season was highlighted by his win at Pebble Beach, and an eighth-place finish at the U.S. Open.

“Who can forget the memorable seasons put up by these four incredible players,” said Steve John, Monterey Peninsula Foundation CEO and tournament director. “We are obviously delighted they’re all returning to Pebble Beach for our 2016 event, where we can expect another fantastic finish.”

A year ago at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Snedeker matched the perfect weather conditions as he finished a tournament record 22-under, bettering the previous mark of 20-under (Mark O’Meara 1997, Phil Mickelson 2007). After an opening-round 64, Snedeker followed with three consecutive 67s to secure a three-stroke victory over Nick Watney. Day wowed Friday’s crowd by shooting a second-round 62 at Monterey Peninsula Country Club.

In the current Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), Spieth and Day are ranked No. 1 and 2, respectively, while Johnson is No. 8. John said the tournament would soon be announcing more players ranked in the OWGR’s Top 20 who will be in the 2016 field at Pebble Beach.
