Image & Style Magazine  Editor’s Note of November 2016

We are coming up on the one-year mark at the Peninsula Estate after our move from the Chateau By The Sea. The magazine staff still enjoy the panoramic ocean views and I do visit often to make sure the business is running smoothly. Like today – October 31st – for instance,…when everyone has taken to the costume. This is truly a creative bunch.

Speaking of creation…that reminds me of the business of fashion…and we cast a studied eye over the offerings by ASOS, Jessica Minh Anh and Top Shop’s Autumn/Winter 2016. Art Hearts Fashion Los Angeles (as part of Los Angeles Fashion Week) walked over fifty designer’s right past our front row seats. Luscious! Also, five reasons why California fashion styles lead the pack.

From packs to organized groupings, we caught sight of the human tower which was created by Castellers de Vilafranca at the Concurs de Castells in Spain. Moving from masses to masts, in sailing, New Zealand won a historic foiling world championship. For those keen on the race, a look in on Australian F1 driver and novice ranch hand Daniel Ricciardo as he preps for the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. And for diversity in service, we have photos of German volleyball superstars Laura Ludwig and Kire Walkenhorst as well as Brazilians Alison Cerutti and Bruno Schmidt who will return for the new season at the February 7-12 opener.

If that got your motors running, have a look at the new 2017 Aston Martin DB11! In the words of Captain Steven Hiller (as played by Will Smith) , “Man, I’ve got to get me one of these!”

From high art to those of high potential, accomplishment, and promising futures, it seems right to speak to our features this month. In the youth category, Ms. Kaylin Slevin, who at a mere 15 years of age has come so far. Under “All That” we present Ms. Kristine Elezaj who not only graces our cover but is an alluring singer and performer. Representing the men: actor Michael Galante who found his profession in a most peculiar way.

Plucked by fate to picks and frets, our High Notes section covers a recent tour by singer / songwriter Alice Cooper as well as the music festival held in Austin, Texas. In the grab bag, Ms. Laverne Cox’s replica may now be seen in Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in San Francisco.

Don’t get away with an empty sack, we must direct your attention to a new dining experience named SUGARCANE which is a raw bar grill set to open in the Venetian in Las Vegas. Go ahead. It’s VEGAS. Nobody is going to tell you.

We hope you find something to your liking among these pages and welcome any comments.

Enjoy!
