49ers VS Broncos

Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers strode onto the field for the first time this season to test their skills against their long-time rivals, the Denver Broncos. Pre-season games can be a bit underwhelming and this was no exception…but first the highlights:

Starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick demonstrated that he is San Francisco’s future with crisp pass executions and smart running when required. Receivers Vernon Davis, Anquan Boldin and Marlon Moore showed good form in their receptions. On defense, Aldon Smith scored a pass block and both
Nnamdi Asomugha and safety Eric Reid gave notice that their turf is no safe place by dealing punishing post-reception hits.

On the clipboard list of things on which to improve: the backfield hit of D.J.Harper which led to Denver’s touchdown. Add to that A J Jenkins’ fumble of the ball after a promising reception. And backup quarterback Colt McCoy both intercepted and injured on a later play.

Hopefully staff has now had the opportunity to see their talent in action and can make the necessary adjustments for next week’s game.
