A Passing Fancy

A Passing Fancy Week One 49ers VS Chargers

With the backup quarterback controversy in the rear view mirror,
the San Francisco 49ers are set to take on the San Diego Chargers
tonight (8/29) in what will be a contest of offenses. Expect a strong
passing game from both teams as they seek to avoid strong defensive
lines and even stronger linebackers.

Weeks one and three demonstrated that San Francisco has depth in
a passing offense and an agile quarterback in Colin Kaepernick.
San Diego is not as fortunate in this area with their wide receiver
positions being hampered by injuries. Look for sub 10-yard outs
to the sideline or plus 30-yard strikes to the posts.

When runs are attempted, the Niner backs only need to remember one
thing – keep possession of the ball. Second and five-or-less will
prompt a try at the running game…at least until the end of the
first half. After that it will be all about the air game.

Best of luck Niners in your last pre-season game.
