Night of the Yellow Flags Vikings vs 49ers

Despite the flurry of penalties, the San Francisco 49ers managed to complete their 34-14 conquest over the visiting Minnesota Vikings.

The parade of quarterback talent started with Colin Kaepernick completing 7 for 13 for 72-yards and a TD in the first quarter. All-but-confirmed backup quarterback Colt McCoy played the second and third quarters, racking up 11 for 15 for 109-yards in a respectable showing. Newly acquired B.J. Daniels took the
reins in the fourth quarter and led the offense on a 63-yard drive to a touchdown.

On the opposite end of the throw, receivers Marlon Moore, Jonathan Baldwin and (especially) Quinton Patton demonstrated their abilities to find openings in the secondary.

The 105 yard return by Lavelle Hawkins was a watercolor portrait as two penalties were enough to wash it away.

Defense proved they could penetrate Minnesota’s offensive line with 49er Aldon Smith’s fumble recovery in Minnesota’s backfield.

Minnesota continues to struggle with an offense that could use the stimulation of one of those Viking horns in the nether regions.

Quarterback Christian Ponder threw two short touchdown passes – a one-yard pass to Zach Line in the first half and a three-yard completion to Joe Webb in the second half. But pressure from the San Francisco defense staunched any further output.
