Community begins with The Heroes of Mexico, written by Susie Najera (Ed: Stocking stuffer?). Beauty queen Lindsay Davis tells us about her work post-crown and we visited by the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (co-founded by Edward James Olmos). Our film pick of the event: Potosi. In a stroke of luck, we met the famous film title designer Pablo Ferro and persuaded him to answer a few of our questions. Look for his special interview inside! Not last by any means, Daphne Wayans offers her personal reflections on helping others.

In our Music section, cover model and bass guitarist phenom, Nik West. She is young, fresh and in demand. Lionel Richie brought All The Hits, All Night Long into San Jose, CA on the second to last stop of his current tour. We recognize Babyface’s Hollywood Walk of Fame honor and interview a Chicago family who express togetherness via break dance performance.
Legends and rising stars packed The Billboard Mexican Music Awards 2013 – see who took home the honors.

In Sports, the San Francisco 49ers extended their winning streak and Light Heavyweight titleholder Bernard Hopkins sets a Ripken-esque record.

We wrap up Spring Fashion 2014’s coverage with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFW): Tokyo and Paris. Our hats are off to designer Anya Caliendo for her New York first. Sergio Rossi tempts us with his Italian-flavoured, foot-wearable artwork. The house of Proenza-Schouler’s Spring Collection emphasizes the waist with soft shoulders and flowing lines from hips to ankles.

November is National Adoption Month. We found a touching story of a young man who made a tough choice and is living with the consequences. His book, The Open Adoption” is due out soon.
