Sir Stringfellow The Mo Beta Experience

He has played with many of the Las Vegas area tribute groups like the Temptations, The Drifters, The Coasters, The Marvelettes, and the Supremes. After Vegas he moved back to his hometown of Los Angeles and ventured into the L.A. music scene, home to some of the world’s best musicians.

This is where his band, The Mo Betta Experience, was conceived. His distinctive “Pocket” pulses deeply, defining both his recordings and live performances – it has become his trademark.

If I had to choose three adjectives to describe Kermit Stringfellow they would be: Extraordinary, Ingenious, and Multiplex.  I sat down with him recently to dig a bit deeper and find out what makes this ingenious artist tick.

CV – What do you think is the most interesting thing about you?

KS- My all around style, my music, and my fashion. I find that in this day and time music and fashion is very generic, no one has their own unique identity anymore.

CV – What do you love about music?

KS – I love how it translates to the world as another language. It tells a story from every culture.

CV – What current artist would you pay to see?

KS – Erykah Badu and Dwele. They too share a unique style and they are pushing the envelope musically. There are a few others doing this as well.

CV – What artist would you like to play drums for?

KS – Sir Stringfellow.

CV – What is your all-time favorite song?

KS – “Conditions of the Heart” by Prince on his “Around The World in a Day” project.

CV – What makes your band “Mo Betta Experience” different from others?

KS – My band’s song selections reach decades of generations, and I feature different solo artists within my group.

CV – Where would you like to see your career in the next two to five years?

KS – I would like to see my success heightened and expanded to a global level.

CV – How do you describe your fashion style?

KS – “Old Skool” with a traditional British flavor.

CV – How does it feel to be the first artist featured in Cattura Vanity magazine?

KS – Incredibly honored.

Kermit’s performance persona, Sir Stringfellow, is a many-layered and eccentric character – and perfectly highlights his talent and creativity. This young man with an old soul is on his path to his bright future. He has made a pact with all the past R&B Funk masters who now reside in heaven to keep the “Funk” alive, continuing to present it in its true form and to educate our youth on what real R&B music is. A big task – but he is well on his way.
