The cruel randomness which claimed the life of professional race car driver Justin Wilson is difficult to comprehend. Despite everyone’s best efforts – the designers, the fabricators, each team and their crews – there still remains an element of danger in this sport. In speaking with drivers, what we have learned is that they rationalize their involvement, weigh the risks and in the end, find that their love of the sport keeps them racing. It is our hope that, in that last instant, Mr. Wilson felt a sense of satisfaction about his accomplishments and the elation which comes from leaving while doing what he loved.
