A Macy’s World Series Celebration

A Macy’s World Series Celebration. San Francisco’s Macy’s Union Square was pleased to host Giants second baseman Joseph Panik for a special meet, greet and autograph feat in their Men’s Department on November 1st. Very much like our most recent article about San Francisco 49er legend Dwight Clark, Mr. Panik will forever be associated with his World Series, Game 7, glove toss to shortstop Brandon Crawford to make the 4-6-3 double play – the first play call ever overturned in World Series history.

Macy’s World Series Celebration brought hundreds of Giants fans who lined up for blocks, for the opportunity to meet and greet Panik. The first 250 patrons who spent $25.00 or more on Macy’s collection of official championship gear received Joe’s autograph on their purchase.

Image and Style Magazine was on hand to record the celebration. We asked Joe if he ever thought winning a World Series could happen in his rookie year. Though still working through his own disbelief that he could be so lucky, he offered “Honestly you dream about it as a kid…going to the World Series and being a part of something like this…but actually being able to do it…and during only the first two months of your Major League career, it’s pretty surreal to think about yourself as a World Champion.”
