I attended the Planet Pit World Tour concert in San Francisco on the 11th of August to see the man, the sensation: Pitbull. Not knowing what to expect I was more than pleasantly surprised by the quality and energy of his performance.
The audience was mostly female and dressed to impressed…with I am sure a few boyfriends along for the ride. To his credit, Pitbull has taken a position on high ticket prices, keeping the maximum ticket price under $100.00 despite his popularity. Kudos to him.
When I first arrived I introduced myself to the lady behind me – a woman in her mid-fifties celebrating her birthday with her daughter who had purchased tickets. She told me all about how she looooved Pitbull and thought he was the sexiest man alive. The performance
began and suddenly I felt my derriere being lightly slapped by this woman’s hand. This is the kind of energy Pitbull brings out in his audience. By half way through the concert I had to turn and ask her to desist. My rump was getting bruised! She said she was so
sorry but couldn’t help herself. I swear this woman would have willingly given herself to the man had she the chance. Frenzy! Elvis is back!
Though my rump was beaten, I enjoyed the concert fully and left wanting to see more of him in the future. It is not often that you see a modern performer with honest charisma who truly desires to make a connection with his audience.
