The 40th annual People’s Choice Awards – where viewers and fans select their favorite shows and stars – aired Wednesday January 8th 2014. This year’s co-hosts were Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings from CBS’ 2 Broke Girls.
America’s love affair with Sandra Bullock continued as she walked away with four awards including Favorite Comedic Movie (Heat), Favorite Comedic Movie Actress (Heat), Favorite Dramatic Movie (Gravity) and partnered with George Clooney to snag the Favorite Movie Duo prize for Gravity.
Justin Timberlake picked up three awards including Favorite Male Artist, Favorite R&B Artist and Favorite Album for The 20/20 Experience.
Iron Man 3 got the nod for Favorite Movie and Robert Downey Jr. secured the Favorite Action Movie Star award for his performance in that film.
Singer Jennifer Hudson received the Favorite Humanitarian award.
Highlights included:
Sara Bareilles who performed her Grammy-nominated hit song Brave.
One Republic stole the show with Counting Stars – a hit off their third album, Native.
