Golden Globe 2014 Awards: Awarding Excellence

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and Dick Clark Productions (DCP) produced the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, which were aired live on NBC.  More than 160 countries around the globe tuned in. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returned as co-hosts.  The Golden Globes  are one of the few awards ceremonies to include both motion picture and television achievements.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returned as co-hosts. The Golden Globes are one of the few awards ceremonies to include both motion picture and television achievements.

The two big winners: American Hustle – took home three awards including best motion picture, comedy or musical, best actress in a motion picture, musical or comedy (Amy Adams) and best supporting actress in a motion picture (Jennifer Lawrence) ; and 12 Years a Slave – won best motion picture, drama.

Top honors went to Matthew McConaughey and Cate Blanchett for best actor/actress in a motion picture, drama for their performances in Dallas Buyers Club and Blue Jasmine. Spike Jonze won best screenplay, motion picture for Her and Alfonso Cuaron attracted best director, motion picture for the Sandra Bullock film Gravity.
