On June 22nd, 150 plus golfers including several of Mr. Turner’s former teammates and well as current and former players made their way to the Ruby Hills Golf Club in Pleasanton, CA for the yearly fund-raising event. San Francisco 49ers Eric Reid, Barry Sims, J.J. Stokes and the legendary Jerry Rice were just a few of those who played then stayed for the dinner and well-attended auction.

For two decades now, Keena Turner has been an avid supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Tracy and a role model for athletes who desire to give back to their communities. The Club’s executive director, Kelly Wilson, said that the revenues from the tournament were a great help to her organization. This year, they plan to open a seventh clubhouse at Jacobson Elementary School. The organization’s current focus is on helping kids become proficient readers by the end of third grade.

The Boys & Girls Club of Tracy provides a safe place to learn and grown, ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals, life-enhancing programs and character development experiences and, most importantly, hope and opportunity. A membership costs just $35.00 per year.
