Fitness Expo 2015 – San Jose

Hundreds of fitness-related products, throngs of personal trainers/coaches and a sea of product booths awaited the eager visitor. Attendees could participate in classes held by local as well as visiting instructors in everything from Pilates to Zumba. Demonstrations of power in the form of weight lifting competitions ran alongside beauty contests for “best calf muscles.”

Naturally Fit Agency held a two-day fitness open casting call which drew hundreds looking to get a start on a fitness modeling career.

We especially enjoyed the Healthy Living Pavillion as presented by Jamba Juice which offered nutrition and cooking demonstrations – all protein pancakes, yum! Jamba Juice brought together several professional to talk about fitness and nutrition including Vernon Davis from the San Francisco 49ers. He later stopped by the Jamba Juice booth to sign autographs and to continue talking about healthy eating and staying active. Special guest speakers included the Naked Chef from MTV’s Snack Off and author of 14 Minute Snacks Cookbook, Jacques Laventure; Fitness Chef Aaron Vaden; The Lean on Wheels company (https://www.leanonwheels.com/ ); T.J. Hoban (http://www.tjhoban.net/ ); James Ellis and David Kimmerle; and author of No More Excuses Diet, Maria Kang.

Other notables in attendance were Jessica Arevalo (Jessica Arevalo Fitness ); Fitness cover model, Colin Wayne; Megan Brown Bennett (Light Years Ahead Products); Four time Mr. Olympia, Jay Cutler; actor and fitness celebrity, Roland Kickinger; and Mr. Olympia, Jeremy Buendia.

Our favorite products included the super delicious “Perfectly Pomegranate” – find it at http://www.perfectlypomegranatejucie.com. Laughing Giraffe Organics have created a selection of raw food (foods in their natural, unaltered state) snacks, macaroons and nut-based temptations – find them at http://www.thelaughinggiraffe.com.

Gracie Jiu Jitsu held one of the most interesting and inspiring events which took place on the GRID field.

The National Pro Grid League (NPGL) reserved an area to demonstrate their new sport which is entering its second year. GRID combines gymnastics plus gym-related activities (lifting, curling, squats, power lifting) in coed teams racing to complete task sets on their way to a finish line. Find out more about NPGL at http://www.npgl.com.
